The Kimberly Diamond

This beautiful fancy colored diamond was found in the Kimberly Diamond Mine of South Africa. The history of the diamond is vague - all that is known for certain is that it was once a part of the Russian Crown Jewels. After the Russian Revolution many precious items, including jewels were sold to finance the new regime. It is believed to have been first cut in 1921, from the 490 carat Russian stone. In 1958 New York diamond cutters Baumgold Brothers purchased the golden diamond and again it was cut to it’s current 55 carat emerald shape. At that time it was thought to be worth at least $500,000. The diamond was sold in 1971 and it is rumored that an unknown Texan purchased it.

I haven’t heard of The Kimberly Diamond showing up at any Texas barbecue or night on the town.
So, fess up, which one of you bought it?
